thia's thinkin up a storm

Sick of living in what looks like the equivalent of a college student apartment. So I will be taking "babysteps" to transform this one bedroom into a luxe living loft <3

Here are some of my upcoming DYI projects that hopefully you guys can do to add a little fabulousity into your living space:

-doggy bed
-throw pillow cases
-accent painting on shelves, furniture and nick nacks around the house
- plants, plants and more plants!
-duvet cover
-simple and easy to do wall hangings for a pop of color

Here's to living in style ;)

PS that is the name of Rachel Zoe's new book that comes out March 25th!

fabulous things to come...

Evening beauties,
Can I just say this weather sucks? I didnt move down off the mountain for 30 degrees and raining in the middle of March wth!  Maybe that's why this mani Monday I went for baby blues.

This NYC Long Wearing polish, in Skyline Blue, was only 98 cents and it actually applies smoother than some of my $8 polish! Score!

It's Tuesday night, Lila and I are laying around with The Real Housewives in the background while we hop around Pinterest searching for upcoming DIY inspiration.  Once my upcoming bills are taken care of it's time to start redecorating and doing some small scale renovation in our cozy little one bedroom loft apartment. Which I am so excited for! (minus the fact that I will have to do a lot of editing because unfortunately my boyfriend/roommate isn't to big a fan of flirty pastels, floral & animal prints etc.)  It's going to be a challenge pleasing all of us- me, boyfriend and Lila of course, or sticking to a tight budget... but that's what Goodwill, yard sales and spray paint are for right? ;)
Any ideas and feedback you guys have once I start sharing my transformation in progress would be so great, so please please please share with me!

Sweet dreams & nightie night

DIY cropped denim 101

Next seasons trends are "springing" in with full force and with just a simple snip of your scissors you can update those 'bleh' jeans wasting away in the back of your closet instead of throwing them out.  Save your cash and spare those landfills of your unwanted denim because this spring is all about mixing up casual denim with more luxe items like leather or pumps.

So dust off those jeans and grab:
-a ruler or measuring tape
-piece of chalk
-some sturdy scissors

First: Slip on your jeans and mark on both legs with your chalk where you want to cut... I recommend about an inch to 1"1/2 above your ankle bone
Second: Take your measuring utensil and lightly mark a straight line all the way across the pant legs
Third: Snip away!
Last: Run your fingers along the freshly cut edge and pull the threads to create a frayed effect

Simply style with pointed pumps for effortless street style and voila! You'll look fresh out of a fashion mag!
